What Students Experience
CTE students work with current and emerging technologies, take part in hands-on work-based learning, and benefit from curriculum developed alongside local business and community partners. These experiences bring classroom learning to life and prepare students for success in their chosen field.
After Graduation
CTE completers can go on to two- or four-year college programs, enter apprenticeships, or step directly into the workforce — ready to contribute from day one.

CTE doesn't replace traditional academics — it strengthens them. By combining academic knowledge with technical skills and hands-on experience, CTE helps students build practical, job-ready abilities that complement their core education. Programs are aligned with industry standards and connect high school coursework with college-level learning in a logical, meaningful sequence.
Programs at CTE
The Center for Career & Technical Education (CCTE) provides students with hands-on, career-focused learning across 14 areas of study, preparing them with the knowledge and skills needed for success beyond high school.
Juniors and seniors from Allegany, Fort Hill, and Mountain Ridge high schools have the opportunity to explore their interests, discover their career paths, and gain valuable real-world experience at CCTE. Through a supportive learning environment that emphasizes hands-on instruction, creativity, and innovation, students develop skills that can last a lifetime while earning industry-recognized certifications.
Career and technical education at CCTE combines rigorous hands-on training and academic instruction with field trips, employer and union visits, skills testing and competitions, real-world simulations, and interview and job preparation. These experiences help students build confidence, develop in-demand skills, and prepare for immediate employment, further education, or a seamless transition to college.
