CCTE Students Will Compete at SkillsUSA Maryland State Championship
CUMBERLAND, Md. – March 18, 2026 – Allegany County Public Schools is proud to announce that 40 Center for Career & Technical Education students will compete in the SkillsUSA Maryland 53rd Annual State Championship on April 17-18. The championship will be held at the Carroll County Career & Technology Center in Westminster.
On Feb. 27, CCTE’s HVAC, Carpentry, and Allied Health students competed against students from Frederick and Washington Counties as part of the SkillsUSA Maryland Regional Competition. The competition for Region 6, which was a rescheduled event due to inclement weather, was held at the Center for Career & Technical Education and Western Maryland Works & Makerspace. Top-ranked ACPS students from that competition join their schoolmates whose skill contests advanced directly to States this year.
