SkillsUSA Maryland Regional Competition This Saturday at CCTE

CUMBERLAND, Md. – Feb. 4, 2026 – Cheer on career & technical education high school students from Allegany, Garrett, Frederick & Washington Counties (Region 6) at the SkillsUSA Maryland Regional Competition from 8 am-2 pm on Saturday, February 7.

The Region 6 competition will be held at Allegany County Public Schools’ Center for Career & Technical Education, with the exception of the carpentry and welding categories. Competition in those categories will take place at Western Maryland Works.

SkillsUSA regional competitions accomplish three goals.

1. They establish a maximum number of state competitors in technical contests where space and/or safety concerns are an issue.
2.  They allow more students from local chapters an opportunity to participate in competitions.
3.  They help students better prepare for state-level competitions.
